I doubt the fact that the price is .99 is the real reason but it is more likely it is the way the .99 is distributed.

@mikehenriquez: In reading the articles again, that is what it means:

@dlinkwit27: They only can do those things if you have the privacy for those things set to Everyone. The request does not give any additional rights so they could do that anyway (if your privacy settings allow it).

"when someone sends you a Friend request they get immediate access to the information that you've designated as available to Everyone in your privacy settings."

@DrTHE0P0LIS: "posting details about my life for consumption by a large numbers of people (friends or otherwise) vaguely narcissistic. As such, I feel that the technology is inherently narcissistic. "

@DrTHE0P0LIS: Facebook is just a medium of communication like email.

Seems unlikely for that same reasons there won't be standing seats (another story the press pounces on when they crop up like clock work):

@pomax: "If everyone drives "at the speed of traffic", and that's 5pmh faster than the speed limit, ... "

@stevewoz: So many people talked highly about this show, I got it from NetFlix.

@captfoss: "There is no denying it offers an accurate picture...of...me as a complainer because I tend to...do those kinds of things... I wouldn't say "That is not me!" because it is me."

@Tony Bologna: Not even close to being the same thing.

@Drect: Bottom line: they still only show things that happened.

"Neither of the characters on the screen had anything in common with the people I know. "

@arebelyankee: It is just like computers: sometimes you want to see OS marketshare, sometimes you want to see specific brands of hardware.
