I went to school for a year in Duluth, Minnesota. The way the some of the buildings were shaped like a U, it caused some deep drifts in those building 'pockets' and some people were doing this (I can't remember if it was two or three stories though).

The thing about paper is the vast majority is made from fast growing tress specifically grown on tree farms to make paper from. If you weren't using the paper, they wouldn't plant the trees.
