@jasondiaz: In context, what he is talking about has nothing to do with whether high sales = good.

@jasondiaz: "hash up a comment that only Balmer would say and believe in."
@jasondiaz: "Gizmodo and others alike first said cupping the phone. Then quickly changed to stances to "Bridging" only after CR second or third review of the phone."
@jasondiaz: That whooshing sound you heard was the point sailing over your head.
@jasondiaz: The Consumer Reports article that caused much of the uproar in the mainstream press most certainly not about attenuation but bridging.
@jasondiaz: I am not sure I understand the logic: you cite iPhone's sales as evidence of lack of outrage but then claim it is not evidence with Vista.
@jasondiaz: You are falling for Apple's Distraction For Suckers: our phone has a bridging problem. All phones can suffer from attenuation.
@jasondiaz: Hmm, Vista sold 30 million copies in 30 days. Does that mean every thing was fine?
"your iPhone is not really uploading data to the internet at night"
@Rod MacLeod: I understand that and in fact, spent some time trying to figure out how to phrase it to make it clear. In the end, I gave up and decided to assume readers understood what that number is about.
@MacAttack: It is not. But you cannot infer that the 1% increase is the entire extent of people having the bridging problem (as I explained why in the post you are replying to).
@MacAttack: You could be right about the AppleCare but that still leaves out all those others and it is ridiculous to claim that accounts for 100% of the people having the problem.
@MacAttack: "16,500 iPhone users [had the attenna problem]"
@TangoTL: "Hopefully, the closed system of iOS is worth the extra hassle and actually improves security, as opposed to just a facade of security. People can slip malicious code through the iPhone review system as well... "
@Kayno: "be revolutionary.. "
@chav2011: "I'm not saying Apple invented the touchscreen phone, I'm just saying they made it mainstream. "
I read a lot but not much fiction (maybe one a year) but after hearing so much about this book, I picked got it for my Kindle app.
@vinod1978: I consider the Evo to be less ginormous than an iPhone 3GS in a silicon/rubber case sinces it is less wide and thinner than those.
@LTMP: Because they have NOT shown the bridging problem on any other phone.
@vinod1978: So the answer is yes: you consider the iPhone 3GS to be a "monsterous" and "huge" in those popular silicon cases.
