Giz article says the person was fined for illegally downloading the songs but the other referenced article says he was not fined for downloading but for sharing (i.e., illegally distributing).

Android lifted UI conventions from the iPhone to the same degree that iPhone lifted UI conventions from Palm and other touchscreen PDAs.
