Please don’t ruin this story with logic and facts.

It’s part of the camo. The real headlight shape is disguised. You can see on the edges that the fitment of the flanges is not a proper production lamp quality.

I am a grad student. I make next to nothing, despite working probably 60-70 hours per week. Yet, I have to take several plane trips a year for school-related things, like conferences. And ya know, god forbid I want to try in see my parents once a year. Flying isn’t all rich people on vacation and a lot of us that have

Did you just time travel from 1958 when flying was still a thing for wealthy socialites and celebrities, as opposed to the faster intercity bus it is now?

Minuscule...? *googles* about ~2 million people board a domestic (not counting international) flight per day in the US.

affects such a minuscule number of people and those people are inherently much more well-off

That article was full of shit. It calculated a total with all sorts of things you’d almost never do, like calling a reservation center, paying $200 in ticket change fee AND excess bag fee (in addition to two checked bags!)

As a career statistician that has done federal cost benefit analysis, his comparisons are pretty lacking. A modern flight with in flight entertainment system and other conveniences isn’t exactly comparable to a DC10 in 1975. I’d also argue that demand side has increased pretty substantially since then. Since 2000

Naw, people have options. They’re just not convenient or cool ones.

Unpopular opinion: Flying is actually an incredible value given that the above-mentioned flying greyhound bus can put you anywhere in the country in a handful of hours and just about anywhere in the world in less than a day. Obviously it would be nice if it were cheaper and more comfortable, but still.

What matters is not only the mass of the snow, but the degree to which it has turned into something resembling ice, which it can do with surprising ease if conditions are right -- say, it gets a bit warm the next day, then freezes down again the following night, while the car sits there.

People that don’t clean snow off their cars are lazy assholes

Let’s see, where to start:

Your post is why I can’t take the left seriously. You do realize 1,500 nukes is way more than enough to destroy humanity? At least Trump is somewhat more friendly with Putin and not directly antagonizing him like Obama.

I am a 46 year old Canadian. I have a wife and two kids. I was 13 when 99 Luftballons was a hit. When I was 15, I was terrified that the Persian Gulf Crisis would spill over and create a nuclear conflict.

I’m not that much younger than you. This probably has less to do with age and more to do with personality. The way I see it, whatever happens, no matter the challenge, we’ll deal with it.

Jesus relax. I promise you there won’t be a nuclear holocaust in the next 4-8 years. If I’m wrong I’ll pay you a million dollars. Or if you prefer, 41,000 bottles of Crown Royal.

Serious question, why are you more worried about 15k nukes than 3k nukes? Anything over 10-12 going off at the same time has the same net result, the more you add to the number the less we all suffer. Dead is dead, but I prefer death by vaporization that radiation poisoning.

You’re on crack if you think a 20 year old Toyota is worth 50 grand. I know that’s what they’re selling for, but that’s only because people are dopes. The Supra was respected because it was a hell of a lot of car. You can get a hell of a lot more car than the Supra today for 50 grand, and it’ll even come with a
