Back when these things were all manual- douchebags all knew how to drive stick shift cars!

Yes, people were asked to sign NDAs.

A group of Subaru enthusiasts was invited to the unveiling of the then new STi sedan in NYC. We picked certain select people as it was a secret preview. It was an awesome event, I got to meet and talk to the head of STi, and it happened to be my birthday. There were photogs there but they were under NDA and we were

Well, yea. How fucked up is your moral compass where you feel entitled to know privelidged information from an organization that didn’t have to show anyone anything at all until production?

yeah i doubt he’s getting invited anywhere again in the future

I agree with the OP. These leaks are tantamount to a movie spoiler and kinda ruins the excitement IMO.

Oh I love the leaked photos and spy shots and I can’t wait for more of them to come out, but I feel like it’s just kind of rude to secretly take pictures at an event like that and then post them to the internet. I wonder if McLaren had them sign nondisclosure agreements or just asked nicely for them not to do that.

The leaker was likely invited to an event with the understanding it was secret. He breached that understanding. Therefore, he’s an asshole.

What he signed up for? More likely he drew the short straw and got stuck doing the dirty work at the dealer. His job is not to be a lightning rod for vindictive sacks of discontentment who want to poor all their VW loathing at him. If you want to give someone hell go after for someone with *manager* in their job

And many people are confused by your mindset as well...

Because employment can be hard to come by and many people have to settle for what they get. It’s not like everyone gets a pile of offers on the table and gets to pick the one where they will receive the least abuse...

You seem like the type of “mindset” that purposely misses the trashcan so that a Janitor can pick it up for you....

These just seem like dick moves now... When I turned my jetta in I felt sort of bad for the guy at the dealership because he keeps getting harassed and blamed by customers. The guy at the dealership probably had nothing to do with the scandal. Just turn in the car. It’s not that hard to act like an adult.

This would actually be pretty hard to do, theses didn’t really have much paint depth to begin with. It’s so think in some spots it’s semi translucent to the carbon fiber underneath. I wouldn’t want to be the guy tasked with cut-polishing it.

The detail work by GvE on this car is doubly impressive considering that the F40's factory paint quality was pretty abysmal even by the standards of the day. It’s not a Koenigsegg, it doesn’t have super-thick paint and even thicker clear-coat. I would be petrified to work on paint as thin as the F40's.

Did you ever see the Top Gear with the Koenigsegg without the rear clip? It shot off the road. Although I understand your opinion from an aesthetic standpoint. I think it’s there for a real purpose. I’ve driven an F40 a bunch of times. Never pushing it anywhere near limits but even then it is still quite frightening.

please do keep us in the loop.

I am surprised and kind of disheartened to see how little today’s Jalop voters care about the oddball nature and pedigree of this bike.

Not sure if you’re trolling, but it is the RC213V.. 4-stroke.

Some people, depending on the circumstance, will pay a premium for the nostalgia and simplicity. I honestly don’t see this particular car quite worth what they are asking, but I don’t see a 2000s S-Class with adaptive cruise or any other option being of any relevance.
