While Jeffrey Jones was very good in Beetlejuice, the absence of Glenn Shadix will be more missed, who is unable to reprise his role of Otho on account of being dead.

I think you are right and the reviewer didn’t understand that that was what he was doing.

It’s a fine movie, full of surprises and turns, and yes, the actor whose voiceover fills your ears at the end may be an execrable human being, but it’s a great performance by him nonetheless.

The first 3 books are epic, the rest of the series could do with some tinkering.
