I tried to read Earth Abides found it dull, and abandoned it about 1/3rd in. Hope the live action punches it up.

My partner [at the time] took his three teenage nephews to see the film. It went over well with the boys but the ex was visibly uncomfortable when he returned. “I would have never taken them to this if you had told me how awful it was!”
I’d think he should be worried as people will likely fall off if the series continues its way into being flashy without substance. Ncuti Gatwa is a damn fine actor but the scripts he’s had to play Fifteen have been very poor. Meanwhile, Millie Gibson is a cardboard cutout as Ruby, and I do not see any charisma between…
It’s probably been 25+ years since I’ve seen this movie, I can’t even remember what happened. Wonder if it held up over the years.
When I read the headline at first glance, I thought, ‘Oh crap, someone gave JJ Abrams the okay to rip off The Search for Spock for his nuTrek movie....”
Having seen the trailer... this looks like a knock off retread of the original, without the fun and a lot of stupidity involved. Even the dialogue seems really awkward.
I rather suspect the titles are for individual episodes, or perhaps thematic choices within somehow.
Talk about a movie no one ever asked for.
The Road is gorgeously written and one of the bleakest novels I’ve ever read. It lives rent free in my head and because of that, I will never read it again.
My guess is this is a social commentary film about class and wealth, where the rich are in a murder cult and every one else is game to be killed (probably manipulated through drugs), just for funsies.
Good god, NO.
Honestly, I’m perfectly okay with this. The show was bad. There were some nice moments but... it definitely was a plodding disappointment for me.
> you meant the movie fans especially the Snyder bros
Honestly, after how bad WW2 was (and no disrespect to the talented performers) no one is asking for WW3.
That would be a nice throwback. Curtis is 65, Lohan is 37, and Foster is 61. Cast a young actress to play Lohan’s daughter and all four can swap bodies through out.
Yep, their chemistry made the rest of that series better than it had any right to be. More Sam and Bucky, please, stat, pronto!
Let’s hope they bought better wigs for the cast this season.
I’d forgotten about this show! I rather liked the first season and yeah, I agree it was frustratingly slow at times. That said, let’s hope the changes give it some oomph.
Signs a movie will be bad: Jennifer Lopez is in it.
With the additions of other characters, it seems like this won’t be just another boring reboot of the Superman origin or rehash of anything already told, but an entirely new story. fingers crossed.
