All my Hyundais and my Genesis are like this. Fob out of batteries? Just use the key IN THE KEY HOLE to unlock the door. The press the fob to the start button and... the car starts. I cannot imagine ever wanting to drive a car that needs some sort of internet connection to drive. Then again, I don’t use music

I don’t want to derail the story, but like, fucking keys man man. What was wrong with a key?

That’s rust-free in MI-speak.

Jalopnik’s latest round of hires are all from the BuzzFeed School of Journalism and couldn’t tell you the difference between news and clickbait. Gone are the days of Doug DeMuro and numbered are those of Torchinski and, you know, writers who write things we actually want to read. Sadly we’re all here because

Its not a fancied up 4Runner, not even the same chassis. The GX is based on the Toyota Prado, which we dont even get here. Its also more capable and comfortable than the 4Runner, which is probably why they recommended it.

Okay, I was being generous.

I test drove one a couple months ago and I was surprised how much I liked it. It was quite comfy and pulled really nicely getting up to highway speeds. Gotta pay some stuff off first, but next spring I’m planning on having one in my driveway!

The swing gate hatch is exactly why I am looking at the V8 4Runner instead of the GX. It would probably be fine for 90% of the time, but the last 10% would be an absolute PITA. Also there’s nothing to act as an umbrella when you are getting stuff out of the back or sitting there in a downpour and I used that feature

I had no idea that Holy Grails were so common.

I’ve owned somewhere around 11(?) Nissan/Infiniti vehicles, along with 1 Mazda and 2 BMWs. I still have 2 of my Nissans. You might say I’m a Fan of the brand.

And now I need a pepperoni pizza.

I miss the old speedvision too

Please provide a list of cars that make more power per cylinder. To make it easy, here are the reference points.

People are already hitting you over the head for this comment, but yeah, 272 hp is lots of power in 2020. The problem with your statement is that is assumes HP numbers can be generalized. If we’re talking about Demons and Shelbys and BMW M cars and so on and so forth, 272 doesn’t sound like a lot. Naturally, taken out

You’re going upmarket aren’t you.

I imagine David on the Port side of the barge like this.

This is a $100k+ luxury vehicle... if you can afford it, your carbon footprint is probably too big to actually care. This is aimed as a way to introduce EV pickups for GM. Make the first one aspirational to the crowd already buying Denalis and Escalades, then let the tech trickle down.

“A failure of any of those components could yield disaster”

The vehicle overheats and the CEL comes on. You stop. Disaster averted.  This is exactly how it works until it doesn’t.

They did find out and ran a software update “over the air”.  HA!!!!
