This game is looking terrible so far, regardless of franchise history. I hope to be proven wrong when it launches.

In a vacuum where FF doesn’t exist, this is not a game I would care about. This footage lacks any sort of charm—grit, or anything interesting at all really.

When your design goal is to be “mature” and

I just thought Forbidden West was a very mediocre sequel narratively, with a few downright flat performances, but a name can indeed be a market influence. The initial glean was over for me by FW. Something about the pacing and the characters was just far less compelling to me in FW than ZD.

Well yeah that’s the one thing the public really knows about them, they were Libertarians.

While I always conceptually loved the Series S, I knew it would end up holding back the entire hardware generation. *laughs in Nintendo Switch*

That’s a hallmark of good game design. I have to stop just short of praising Blizzard altogether though. Good job balance team!

Enjoy! Mileage may vary, obviously. Just wasn’t my thing.

At least the game is intensely mediocre, niche and jank. I was wondering what would happen to this (and Tarkov) when the invasion started.

The game engine you’re talking about is Unity! It can do some pretty impressive things.

Imagine if Kotaku gave a gleaming review to Hogwarts Legacy lmao, that would be the most off-brand alternate universe shit ever. I’m not trying to make some grand statement I’m just high.

true thanks for correcting me, i got confused because it was shown at an early ps5 conference

I will say one thing about Nintendo, they are masters of optimizing their internally developed games. I wish other studios would spend half the time actually using every bit of available power instead of just... well, doing what Sony did on the Forsaken PC port, for example.

This comment is easily the best thing to come from this debacle.

...are you, though? Or do you just do a lot of pretentious whinging in comment sections?

I will say this once to the greys: I have not and will not buy Hogwarts Legacy, but I do not place the burden of conscientious consumerism upon everyone else in order to take some sort of moral high ground online. The entire situation is backfiring and the game is set to break sales records.

You do realize this works both ways, right? Especially for folks who cannot afford / do not receive a proper education and want to play the game after work? Not everyone knows the scoop on royalties or the language of social justice. That is a privilege.

Or does the layman not deserve recreation? Perhaps you go around

Can’t wait for Empress to crack the Denuvo. Looking forward to stealing the game.

Also Luke you intended to say “scrutiny” in the subtitle right, not “security?”

Okay now I know they’re going to announce a new Switch.
