Oh lord, it’s a shame to see you go Whitson. And How-To-Geek just received another reader. Wish you all the best, dude. Congratulations on the new gig :)

it drives me mad when I read little gold nuggets like this. gives me new angles, reminds me of so many things tucked away in my cluttered brain, and slaps me in the face a little. (AKA thanks for your time & words Ryan Holiday)
definitely, I hope it works for you!
It made you tired during the day? As opposed to when you wake up at a slower pace?
I solved the snooze button issue awhile back, and the system I use has proven to be pretty dang pain free. I have my alarm set up on my desk, which is several feet away from my bed. When it goes off, I get out of bed to turn it off, throw my day clothes on right away, and I'm awake. I'm at a point now where my body…
you are a really special lh writer, melanie.
Day 6, nothin but cloudy water and a bunch of scallion ends floating around.
Shoot, did I miss that free Parallels deal, or am I maybe missing something? Not something I need at all, but almost definitely something I would use if I had it.
This one's a pretty general annoyance, but after using both an iPhone 5 and various competitor Android phones, my biggest Android annoyance is how un-smooth the operating system is. Even though it's more versatile than iOS, it can't hold a candle to the fluidity of iOS. Swipes are delayed, nothing is quite as…
The WD My Book VelociRaptor Duo 2TB Thunderbolt drive is down at $499 on Amazon from the previous $699.
man, it's so refreshing to hear two arguments spelled out so thoughtfully, respectfully, and thoroughly. major kudos to Thorin and Whitson for these articles
Anyone know what mouse this is?
Does anyone know how to utilize the assigned shortcut in another program? I use Apple+Spacebar to trigger Quicksilver, but I also need that key command for Pro Tools. Is there any way to set it so function+Apple+Spacebar will trigger the "normal" use of that key command? Or is there another workaround?
This is what I use too, and I love it, but I would actually recommend the USB 3.0 version:
Yes, I'm having that issue too. I've restored my backup from both icloud and my computer, and most of my apps and their configuration are gone.
It's the little warnings going around like "this GM version might have a timelock" or "proceed with caution because the files may have unknown issues" that are making me wary. Oh well, I'm gonna say better safe than sorry.
Since this isn't an official update, will we be stuck with it when the official one does come out, or will we still get an update notification?
I get great AT&T service in L.A. as well. AT&T seems to get a pretty bad rap, but my whole family has always been super happy with them, coverage and customer service alike.
Boy, that gets pretty complicated. I don't think I quite understand. I have a home theater in which we project an image in 1080p onto a 12' screen, and it looks great. If "720p" and "1080p" refers to pixel density, what indicates picture size, ratio, etc.? I also recall the terms "720i" and "1080i". Also a pixel…
The thing that does it for me is setting up my alarm on my computer, away from my bed. It's turned into a reflex to quickly get out of bed and turn the alarm off, and it is never really unpleasant. And you're left immediately standing up and ready for the day.
