Actually I think that’s not true. I think Christianity has some very specific details, especially in the Gospels, that are somewhat unique and fascinating.

1. Jesus tells a parable about a foreman hiring workers for day labor. He ends up paying the same wage to those who have arrived in the afternoon as those who were

So the responses have boiled down to the following:

1. Its not all Christians, these guys are outliers.

2. All religion is bullshit.

3. I am Christian and I agree.

I feel this way about Christians from personally spending time with them. Not from this story and not from Gawker.

I know. Haven’t twisted it. As I indicated elsewhere, even normal Christians are getting on my nerves and this is me speaking as one myself.

I am familiar with that sentiment but its not just the goofy creationists that are dragging me down. I’m Catholic to the core but I’m finding the attitude of even mainline Christians grating. Its difficult to pinpoint but I think it seems to me sometimes like faith (which is really trust) translated to

I hope so. I have often been one of those Christians looking for exactly that change. I really do hope you’re right, I’m just tired I guess.

I like a lot of stuff about Christianity, but Christians are really starting to annoy me.

Like the Dread Pirate Roberts!

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss,

The arrival of the First Crusade at the walls of Constantinople.

Great points all. The timing was just perfect. I think the order was great because you started with the most plausible member of the Avengers. I saw an article when the film first came out that said that everything other than the arc reactor is theoretically plausible. Its even set up with the war in Afghanistan. I

All good points. MoS certainly was not a fiasco but it still was not nearly as good as Iron Man I, Spider-Man I, X-Men 1, or Toy Story.

Hulk (Ang Lee): 62%

X-Men 1: 82%

Spider-Man 1: 89%

Fantastic Four: 27%

Amazing Spider-Man: 73%

So DC’s franchise jumping off point was less well received than Ang Lee’s Hulk.

Yes to your thesis with the notable exception of Ryan Reynolds’s Green Lantern (Spielberg couldn’t polish that turd). Getting the right story wedded to the right script and the right filmmaker can do wonders even with a weak/unknown cast. James Gunn made Andy Dwyer into a movie star that way.

Which is why I feel more

Sure maybe. Its possible he comes out in BvS and is terrific we just didn’t see it in MoS.

I think you have to have a major success to really generate an extended universe. One film that sets the tone, and provides an enjoyable formula for the next films to follow.

Take a look at Rotten Tomatoes ratings for the films which have launched Marvel, Pixar, and DC:

Iron Man: 93%
Toy Story: 100%

YES! Who ever said Ezra has to remain on the light side of the Force? The arc of Rebels could be that in the end, the win the war by establishing the Alliance but lose the battle for Ezra’s soul.

This would set up two potentially interesting prospects:

1. Guess who could be Kylo Ren’s master in the next trilogy?

2. It

I think there’s a hierarchy of animated characters who get to be in live action and until these two get into live action everyone else is in a holding pattern.

The simplest of images are often the most compelling and awe inspiring.
