Since AVClub stopped reviewing PoI in Season 1 after Witness (S1E7), only picking up Baby Blue, and then this last episode, I will post my notes on the rest of the episodes from Season 1 that

That is a very good point - that this episode was a nice masterclass on how to tell so many stories in a narrative of many layers and timelines - and how to make it move at the right fast pace that is needed for TV episode. Indeed, indeed..

It was the Machine's way to give a "memory" to the new Machine - "to tell you who you are", "to tell you who we were" - to give birth to a new Machine.

I really liked that The Departed moment. I even looked at Shaw
s feet, to see if she was wearing those white covers on her shoes.

I disagree. Pointing to that episode with the diner scene, I will say again that Caviezel was not used appropriately - often enough. As I mentioned before - his strength as an actor is showing vulnerability, emotions - actually. Watch him in Terrence Malick's the Thin Red Line. When he got to do that in this show -

Well, from now on , Return 0 is my favorite. A superb piece of television - everything included.
