“...learn a lesson about being more particular when choosing who they work with. maybe it’ll help convince those people and systems to change if they know that there are financial stakes to who they work with in addition to the ethical ones.”

“I like Wayne Newton."

Time Bandits!

Julian Glover played villains in James Bond, Game of Thrones, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Quatermass.

I think it's hard to top Ming-na Wen. She's had major roles in Star Wars (thanks to The Mandalorian and the upcoming Book of Boba Fett), Stargate (Universe), and the MCU (Agents of SHIELD). She's a Disney princess (Mulan). She's starred in video game movies (Chun Li in Street Fighter, and Final Fantasy). Pretty great

The scene where Brooks attempts to convince Marshall to return their money is absolute comic genius:

I haven’t seen that one, actually! But I’m a big fan of Brooks (Modern Love and Lost in America are both masterpieces) and Grodin, so I’ll have to check it out in his honor. Thanks for the rec!

I think Elaine May said something about how if she had a nickel for everyone who complained about that movie but hadn’t actually seen it, she’d be rich.

He was amazing and hilarious in The Heartbreak Kid, but also in The Great Muppet Caper, Midnight Run, and (yes, I’ll go there) Ishtar.

Cowards. Release the Snyder zombie dick cut.

I’m not a fan of Howard the Duck, but it’s a rare blemish on Huyck and Katz’s career; they’re pretty great otherwise. They script doctored the original Star Wars and, well, just look how much they improved the dialogue in the film:

Nah. It's Ronan he wanted. That's why he summoned Ronan to Knowhere and confronted him about the deaths of Drax's family. Ronan claims to not remember them. When Drax sees him again, after they crash into his ship at the end, Ronan says he does remember them, enraging Drax.

Yeah, it's funny how much more open Dragon Age was to non-straight romances than Mass Effect, right from the start. Dragon Age Origins had same sex pairings for both male and female Wardens. Dragon Age 2 took it even further by having every romance option be bi... and they got criticism for that, but personally, I

Aside from the music videos, I mostly remember her for playing Hercules’ wife in Kevin Sorbo’s TV movies. I know he’s a shit nowadays, but those were pretty fun flicks back in the day.

Yeah, that's why I said pseudo-sequel... He certainly didn't have the rights to make an official one, but no one can convince me he wasn't having Gene play the same character. And it's awesome.

I had no idea who Rupert Friend was prior to the movie and thought he looked like a discount Orlando Bloom, so I was pleasantly surprised by just how funny he was. He more than held his own with some iconic comedians and had some of the best scenes in the film.

Absolutely. The addition of the Breen later, and their ability to take down the Federation and Romulan ships but not the Klingons, also played into that theme and helped mix things up nicely.

I honestly don't think I could possibly name my favorite scene, there are so many great ones.

It’s funny that the article opens with mentioning The Conversation, since Tony Scott made a pseudo-sequel to that, too.
