In the 80s there were 2 different horror series: Dark Forces and Twilight (NOT the sparkling vampires), I loved those books they were so cheesy and fun.

If this goes through, I’ll love how it’s a giant “screw you” to anyone expecting conventional casting geared towards making the typical Disney audience happy. Disney’s known for playing things safe and this casting feels like it was made up by a bunch of 20-year-old girls and gay guys. That makes me happy.

The larger issue is that trans actors aren’t being offered many roles outside of trans characters. So when Johansson or any other cis actor take that role, they’re taking one of the few roles the industry would allow trans actors to play. Trans actors need to be hired for more roles based solely on their talent but…
