The “top speed” numbers for these cars are set under very controlled conditions. If memory serves it’s over a 1 mile run in both directions (to factor out tail/head winds). So this event really isn’t the place to do that. Plus you know the course has corners.

If this is the average for the full 90 miles, most cars like the Veyron can’t hold top speed that long of a distance. They’d suck their tanks dry way before going 90 miles.

I bet velour seats probably hold you in place better than most race seat!

The Cliffhanger Yodel is my ringtone.

The driver’s an idiot, but I will say I’m very impressed at how well the Range Rover withstood that roll over.

Was once looking at a particular intersection in Dallas, corner lot was an empty grassed lot. Zoom in - empty lot. Zoom in more - empty lot. Zoom in all the way - boom - the empty lot is now a store with parking lot.

I always finish in under 4 minutes. No one’s ever given me a trophy yet :-(

You might be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper

For me, it’s the stretch of I-95 that runs thru Connecticut. Imagine 105 miles of two to three lane highway, the western half in suburban isolation, the eastern half in urban squalor. A highway carrying the major part of the northbound traffic on the eastern seaboard. Mix in a large helping of NY/NJ drivers, MA

Well he’s definitely going to get less playing time now!

Is this a simple case of “If you’ve got it flaunt it” ???

Can we talk for a minute about the 4-5 people standing there who casually watch this woman get out of the wreckage of her car and walk past them out of the place? I’d hope at least an employee would try to stop her.

And then the Nats lost the game. Phenomenal individual performance by Scherzer, but baseball is a team sport.

Problem was the Sox pitchers kept trying to hit Manny and failing. If you pitcher isn’t good enough to actually plunk a batter, tough luck, you had your shot.

I agree I think a pitchers suspension needs to be tied to the number of games he’d be forced to miss. If a pitcher and a batter get into a fight and both get 8 game suspensions, why should that equate to the positional player missing 8 “real” games and the pitcher (assuming starter) missing 2 starts?

Ok seriously? You’re going to be mad at Machado for getting pissed off that he’d been thrown at THREE times in a week? Only Bundy can say for sure if his plunking of Betts was intentional, but considering he’d given up I think 4 walks and had command issues, it’s probably more than 50/50 that it wasn’t intentional. So

Pedroia never went on the DL. He just missed a couple of games.

I SO wanted to put the Conan “What is Best in Life” quote in my yearbook, but my parents talked me out of it.

I just watched the show for the segments with Paul
