I’d argue they actually did do this gradually. Corvettes have slowly been pushing the engine behind the front wheels in C3 and C4, and then switched to a torque tube + rear mounted transaxle in the C5 generation which continued in C6 and C7. They’ve had essentially 50/50 weight distribution since then. The move to mid…
Honestly dude, this car is worthy of at least 10 articles, but preferably more. GM basically just brought an F-22 Raptor to an ongoing knife fight.
yes, baby mclaren for sure. Z51 may be competitive with the 570S, while future Z06 and ZR1 models may be competitive with the big dogs.
Maybe for the first few months. This is a base model corvette we’re talking about here. They’ll be all over the place within a year.
The NSX wasn’t ever quite bargain performance... I think they started at around $80k even back then. This thing is in a much cheaper segment, while offering performance faaaar surpassing anything even remotely close in price.
This is the most bang for buck performance I’ve ever seen in a new car with a warranty. Literally changing the segment.
I like your style
You’re describing the Saturn Sky and the Pontiac Solstice. Neither of which came even remotely close to Corvette sales.
I guarantee that you can’t make that guarantee?
You have a minority opinion about Corvettes.
C1 corvettes raced competitively in Le Mans. Full stop. Since then they’ve been raced competitively in all levels of motorsport.
Corvettes have been extremely competitive race cars since 1953. Racing is absolutely part of the heritage. The Corvette logo is literally crossed checkered flags.
You sound like a real Joe-slob to me.
$500?!?! That’s insane. I was looking for a lowish mileage XJ that needed a little work (just like that one), for practically a year and couldn’t find anything under $10k.You basically stole this thing!
Personally, I think the P72 looks like a knock-off version of the P4/5
Be real though - why is a wagon better than an SUV. A wagon is basically an SUV with less utility.
In my experience, Corvettes and Camaros are orders of magnitude more reliable for track events than any comparable performance cars.
