Considering what we know of other low production, high-spec niche vehicles from small startup automakers, a $4k loss per car isn’t all that bad. I’m sure there’s always more improvements that can be made to production methods and supply chains, Tesla may be able to iron that out without raising the final vehicle price…
I highly doubt that a any paint repair on a Porsche is only $2000.

Tesla Roadster had a two-speed box I recall.
It’s definitely not as plot-devicey as JP, but the ending is a big 180 from the established plot.
Not without a major rewrite. The whole ending of the plot revolves around trying to restore the data on the damaged cassette.
