If you look at the example of the 1975 Icelandic women’s strike, the point is to show all the work that is left undone when you remove women’s labor.

You guys didn’t notice that our cement steps were painted red and black instead of blue and green?

Second the Primo Levi suggestion. Have you read his poetry? For a chemist, he had a powerful way with words.

I snapped up some Brandi Carlile tickets (She’s co-headlining with Old Crow Medicine Show). She is the BEST live.

I see you didn’t read the article:

She really was Vera Wang’s date. She was there to model Vera Wang.

I’m for the Maine and Vermont approach (never disenfranchise), especially given that our criminal justice system is both explicitly and implicitly biased.

The argument you quote is against the draft in its entirety and in favor of an entirely volunteer force, including men.

My argument was about accepting a dishonest politician as qualified. Always ask for the receipts, but once you see those receipts and you know someone is dishonest, I don’t understand tolerating that.

Barbara Lee is honest and principled and also my hero. We have honest politicians, but we tolerate too many dishonest ones and that shame is on our heads.

Leaving aside Hillary, you appear to be saying that that lacking honesty does not disqualify you from political office. I definitely have a different understanding of the word qualified.

The USA and Europe is not an apples to apples comparison. Europe has a population of nearly 750 million people and far stronger regional differences and disparate political histories.

Speaking of Gov McAuliffe though, he enfranchised all Virginians with felony convictions today which is awesome since the current restrictions were constructed in the post-Civil War era to disenfranchise blacks.

Also, Perez is Warren approved:

I’m for Perez over Castro. Castro has given a great speech and.....? Perez’s tenure at Labor has been more notable and successful than Castro’s at HUD.

Castro’s a young-looking 41, a lower-level Cabinet secretary with a record that’s most distinguished for not having anything go wrong. He’s the former mayor of the seventh-largest city with a record that includes a big win in implementing universal pre-K, but the job is technically part-time and pays only $3,000 per

I mean, I voted for him in 2012 and he is very qualified, but he is a centrist through and through. Also, his seat has a high probability of being lost if he joins the ticket.

I loved when the Reverend was just running through crazy ideas for movies that were all M. Night Shyamalan plots

I’m a CA ex-pat living in Delaware. The last time I had them was in 2014 in San Diego. We can’t even get Takis here. My life is pain.
