I didn't.
I didn't.
I'm not much of a sitcom person in general, so that's probably part of the reason why this show just doesn't do it for me. What I did watch, I remember it being so predictable and obvious so it ended up just boring me.
I will say that it is lighthearted and fun. I guess it just doesn't really appeal to me because I tend to like more brainy stuff and when it comes to comedy, I prefer subtle humor. It really all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. It's been on for 3 seasons now, so I'm obviously not in the…
I see. I am happy to announce that I am on the track to becoming an enlightened TV watcher. I'd be closer if it weren't for my addiction to Sex and the City and occasional binge-watching of America's Next Top Model :(
I must not have gotten that far :).
Ok? Thanks for stating that it's okay for me to have an opinion. My question was meant to be more rhetorical than serious.
Yea, it's definitely not for everyone. But tell me, how does one become an "enlightened consumer of TV"?
I actually watched some of the season premiere a few days ago and I still don't find it funny. I tried! I just think it has horrible writing and mediocre acting.
My guess would be because this is Jezebel and they're both shows with female leads? Other than that, I got nothing. There really isn't anything special about them (the shows, or the leads for that matter).
Yup. You're not supposed to like them or root for them, which is (or was) such an innovative concept for TV. I love—-no, lurve LURVE Seinfeld. It's such a brilliant show on so many levels.
I agree, but it was a little more complicated than just going on a date and not getting a call back. Either way, you're right in saying that it's probably not personal.
Zero fucks given is a great outlook to have.
It's the show about nothing! Elaine and George were huge jerks too.
I guess my main take away is: people actually think New Girl is funny? I watched the first season and maybe some of the second, I'm not sure, but mostly for Schmidt. He was the only redeeming character. The whole, "Oh look at me, I'm so quirky and crafty and beautiful but can't get my shit together" schtick got old…
Cheers!
Well my form of rejection was being ignored, which I guess it's better than getting cruel words thrown your way. Sorry that happened to you.
Oh wow. Once you got to "Would you go out with.." he probably tuned you out and immediately imagined you proposing and asking for 5 babies on your first date. Sorry you were embarrassed by him but if you think about it, he's really the one who should be embarrassed :)
Hahahah. No, that's hilarious. Why would he think passing his gum would be okay? I think your reaction was perfect.
Ugh, I feel you. I quit my last job about three weeks ago and while I wasn't told that I would be getting fired anyway, on my last day my boss just felt the need to reprimand me on a stupid mistake and emphasize that I should never do that again. Should be easy, since I'll never work there again. I was a damn good…
It lasted like two seconds before I blurted out "ew!". In my defense, he just stuck his whole tongue in my mouth without warning.
