We’ll have a lot more episodes like that once Model 3 is released. Since it’s so affordable, a lot of young people will be buying them and using this tech. And we know how stupid younger people are.
Cruise control has already proven itself and people know how to use it. There is a big reason why car makers go though years and years of testing a tech to see if it fits. Same reason why premium car manufacturers are not racing to give autonomous tech. Tesla is not testing it the same way.
It’s just a marketing name. Not their fault that people are too stupid to understand that their cars are not fully autonomous. This technology is only as good as it’s sensors and software.
This just proves one very important point. Cars today are NOT autonomous, nor are they semi-autonomous. They are cars with automatic braking and collision avoidance as well as adaptive cruise control, nothing more. We are still good 15 years away from full autonomy. People need to learn that.
