Does NOT Compute! Twenty-two years old, quarter of a million miles, nearly $13,000, poor-to-miserable fuel mileage when we’re routinely seeing $4/gallon (or more) at the pump. The asking price is absurd . . . and yet, it will sell close to asking because the world is crazy right now. No Dice.

It is very obvious that the car is a work in progress. It was on a lift early in the movies. So that accounts for the lack of rear bumper/bodywork, and other things. His motorbikes are his main transportation.

Gawd and that Batmobile entrance scene! Starting with that wicked sound!! So good.

Its got that “Last of the V8 interceptors” look and I’m more than fine with that.

This Batmobile is a fustercluck of parts, as if Wayne cobbled it together himself, which in itself is so refreshing from the tanks and motorized dildos that the production designers have had a fetish providing for the past 25 years.

Dear God, yes. Somebody put a LOT of freaking effort into the car casting for this movie.

Is there a Batmobile that hasn’t looked dorky in person? I’ve seen the “Batman Returns” one and it looks really chintzy and fake up close. Movie cars are kinda built with the idea that you won’t get to look too closely.

There’s also a fantastic collection in the corrupt Mayor’s garage - I remember a Pagani, a Morgan, a Ferrari, and an Aston Martin in that scene. Stellar car casting!

I will happily admit that while the rest of the movie mostly left me “whelmed,” THIS moment was goddamn electric.

Not at all. In fact, some people actually complained that Pattinson didn’t change his voice enough between Bruce and Batman. I disagree with this, as this movie’s take on Batman and Bruce is that they’re essentially the same person, not two completely different “masks” as other films have done. But yeah critiques

Burton, Aton Furst and Miller really changed the direction of the car for a long time and unfortunately it went in the wrong direction as designers worked to one up the over the top aspects or tank aspects. I miss the 70s and 80s comic designs that made the car unique and imposing but inconspicuous enough to hide in

What I don’t get is why they didn’t just go straight to a coal fired steam engine to drive the hydraulic pump?

There are small multirotor aircraft that use four variable pitch props and a single electric motor. They’re capable of the most incredible stunt flying I’ve ever seen. This one has been around almost forever now: https://hackaday.com/2013/12/04/a-collective-pitch-quadcopter/

I recall some YouTube videos of a much

Lolwut! I mean, no power driver’s seat?! In a car marketed as a luxury sedan? What’s the underlying vehicle this thing is based on anyway? Some sorta Euro Fiat platform swap?

Alternate headline: Market continues to confirm Alfa Romeo has most overpriced MSRP of any brand.

Its not a serviceable piece and will only come into play after a wreck. I as a consumer who pays insurance am fine with saving upfront costs at the potential for a wrecked vehicle later. If my car gets rear ended enough where the structure is damaged I dont want it anymore, even if someone could repair it. I want it

Tesla insurance costs similar to their competition, which is BMW, Mercedes and the rest. Insurance cost is largely a factor of purchase cost.

1) 30% weight savings for that piece

It is the CEO’s job to not make statements that are so obviously untrue. It shows that there is a lack of communication - has he not been updated since 2017, and does he believe that the dates agreed in 2017 are just going to happen? Did someone in the press office not review his statement?
