I just mentioned upthread that I live by a Kroeger chain store and they have areas throughout the store with “scratch and dent” items including ugly and older produce. Maybe your boss’s kindness spread with the Kroeger acquisition? We can hope. Also, they probably saw it as profitable.

I live by a large chain that actually does this now. Small sign of hope for the future? I’ll take anything at this point.
