The set-pieces are trash, the level design is atrocious, and the combat feels like shit.

There was some neat ideas in this episode, but most of the time it felt like it was wandering about trying to find an actual plot, whereas my favourite R&M episodes are the ones that work as genuinely good sci-fi even if you remove the humor.

You’re...kinda forgetting the part where disks are utterly dirt cheap. People embraced disks because they didn’t want situations where games like Phantasy Star IV cost $100. Even with the reliability and loading problems, disks were infinitely superior for that reason alone.
