I’m generally okay with race and gender flipping characters (with some exceptions, depending on the character - for instance, Tony Stark needs to be white) for a new adaptation and continuity, but I think straight up recasts should keep the same gender and race. Otherwise I think it just gets weird.

The way it works in Fortnite (which is the right way to do it) is that you only matchmake with your console until you crossplay with someone else, and you can’t do it in such a way that you gain an advantage.
