Omicron wasn’t “it”. There will always be new mutations and variants. XE is ticking up now - 10% more contagious than Omicron and as deadly as Delta. If I were a flight attendant I’d be full-time wearing an N95 right about now. Or going to find a different job.

This can’t be said enough times : Fuck Elon Musk and fuck the rocket/car/ego he rode in on.

In a larger sense, we have been. It’s not just this particular issue (the federal travel thing), but for example here in Utah they’ve essentially done away with the majority of daily reporting, and all the testing facilities have been shut down. With the exception of the wastewater reporting system, we have nothing

“and two individuals who argued that wearing masks while flying exacerbated their anxiety and panic attacks”

But we ARE seeing it in hospitalisation data, and the wastewater indices are all going up again too. I’m just going on historical perspective. We trail behind the UK and Europe by about 6 weeks, and 4-5 weeks ago they started their seventh spike and have only just started to come down off it. At their peak #7, the

“Cases are the lowest they’ve been since last July”

So they went out on the water - which is wet - and tried to shelter from the rain - which is also wet.

On a flight out of Singapore in 2010, I met the Red Bull pit crew, team strategist, driver coaches, mechanics and everyone but Christian Horner and the drivers. So almost the whole team flies commercial. I was sat next to Guillaume Rocquelin when he was Vettel’s race engineer. Great guy and obvs. very interesting to

This seems like the correct answer.

“Programming tail lights” is the problem there. They’re lights - or LEDs - they don’t need ‘programming’. They need to come on when the relay sends power to the light cluster.

Again - and I don’t know how many times I have to say this : gas prices are nowhere near “all-time highs”. Jalopnik (and pretty much all other media) need to stop with this sensationalist bullshit.

You know what’s weird? I’ve been driving EVs for four years now and recently had to rent a car when we were up in Seattle. I had THE hardest time with the fact that taking your foot off the accelerator didn’t really cause much slowdown (I’m so conditioned to regen braking now), and for the life of me I couldn’t find

Think Clark Griswald. :D  The kids are much better now but the one or two trips we did in the early days were awful.

I get your point. But you’re telling me you’ve never seen anyone driving on the interstate while looking back at the rear seat, or ham-fistedly trying to eat tacos and burgers at 80mph?

Counterpoint: fossil fuels are unacceptable.....

Utah, by far. The written test is open-book, meaning you get the DMV driver’s manual there with you to answer the multiple-choice test. (and yet somehow people still can’t achieve the horrendously low 80% required to pass).

Can I just be a pedant and point out that we’re nowhere near an “all-time high” price?

Here’s a tip : if you have flexibility in your travel dates, and you don’t have an issue with Delta Airlines, use their price calendar. Give it a rough idea of when you want to travel and then you can see 5 weeks either side of that date and the calendar will show you when the cheapest flight combos are. It’s not out

I so wanted to get back into the GT series - I left in GT4 because of no-damage, no-dirt. And three days ago I watched a GT7 video of someone bouncing a rally Supra across a dirt track, end-over-end-over-end for four or five rolls, have it land back on the wheels and drive off like it had just come out of a showroom.

It’s gross but it’s not new - the first time I heard of one of these was for Emma Watson back in the day.
