I seem to recall that it wasn't so much a lack of side missions, but more so that they were the same side missions repeated over and over with annoying frequency.

It's not the attempted rape (or whatever they're calling it now) that's the defining moment; it's her killing another human being. The former is the event that brings about the latter, but it's the latter that is supposed to be the focus.

Based on the reactions to the last article, I thought maybe I had missed something but it's just that one scene, then? That's what I figured and now feel fairly confident in my opinion that the whole situation was blown way out of proportion.

I am SO excited about this game. I'm a bit worried, though, that some of the negative reaction they received from E3 will make them tame it down a bit. I hope not.

That's just the way (a saddening amount of) folks react to this kind of article on Kotaku. Don't come to the comments section if you still want to keep some faith in humanity. Sadly, you will leave with none

"Let us make it abundantly clear: if you hate life, truly hate the sun and need to smoke and drink coffee, you are goth. If however, you like dressing in black 'cause it's fun, putting sparkles on your cheeks and following the occult while avoiding things that are bad for your health then you are most likely a

Southpark to the rescue, yet again!

I've never partaken of an Indie Bundle before; if you own one or two of the games already, can you gift them to someone else?

Agreed. If I could promote this comment, I would.

I'm more than willing to do my part in supporting the website provided that the website is not hindering my experience in the process. Like you said, 30 second ads which block the shit I'm trying to read doesn't really instill in me the desire to help them. If they want ad revenue from me, maybe they should be less

Ad blocker, my friend! Got it for Firefox the first time that happened, and haven't looked back since.

It happened to Ubisoft for damn near a whole month when their first "constant connection" game launched. It wouldn't surprise me in the least. I feel bad for the Diablo folks though (gamers, not Blizzard) if that's the case.

The work thing really doesn't matter all that much to me, but I will point out that there are several scenarios (many of which you mentioned above) where general internet surfing is permitted in the workplace. My main point, though, was that Aetherscapist was acting as though clicking the article was the only way to

I don't think it was the article that was the problem, but more so the giant picture of a dildo that made its way to the homepage. There's no way to avoid that except to not visit Kotaku.

To be fair though, if Blizzard hadn't decided to tie the single player portion of their game to their servers, then everyone could be playing right now...

Just thinking the exact same thing

@Everyone: Well, this is all great news to hear! I think I'll grab the Steam demo and give it a shot!

Why does Minecraft need HD? I thought the graphics were supposed to be blocky and generally terrible looking; you don't need high-definition terrible looking graphics....

I've always wanted to play these games, but I fear I don't have the attention to detail required to be successful at it. It seems like there's SO MUCH to think about in regards to every decision I'd probably barely get a village going, let alone an empire....

I'll respond to you in the same way I just responded to Nambread, then. Isn't it a bit soon to judge? You've only seen a few trailers that haven't really explained much. There's SO MUCH that could happen in the story to do all of those things. I just think it's unfair to paint an entire game as "AMURICA
