Was hoping this was an article about how we let Japanese games be bad just because they’re Japanese. I mean, why do all jrpgs have to take themselves so seriously? Even the ones with Mickey Mouse want to act like they were written by the Coen brothers. And it’s Mickey Mouse!

Sprites and pixelation are not just nostalgia, they are a different art style. If a painter makes an impressionist painting, would you think its just for the nostalgia? You certainly have a right not to like it, but it isn’t just nostalgia.
