My concern is that Ruth will be as rapidly annoying as Piper and it will feel like she's in the way of a great show as opposed to a Trojan horse/audience surrogate.

I just started watching this, and I was absolutely DELIGHTED to recognize "Audrey" - she was so unexpectedly fantastic in American Gods (meaning I didn't expect much from that character, no judgement on Betty Gilpin).

As a neurotic aunt with an affinity for cats, I always love to see a good Gayle story. I really like most of her appearances - like a lot of the characters and stories, she grew on me over rewatches and the whole series generally.
