Yea...this article did a really poor job at explaining the situation, but the tweets were tone deaf. When people called him out on it, he doubled down and called anyone who disagreed with him racist and against the protests. It’s not the first time he did something like this, and many staff members had enough and quit

*looks around nervously*

In a way, it kinda sounds like the best thing that could happen given the elements involved and the situation itself.

Nobody in the Sonic fandom liked that particular person to begin with, and all his old friends from the site have cut their ties from him completely, so I doubt he’ll be any successful in future Sonic ventures.

I mean, compared to, say, The New York Times their impact was small, but pretty much every Sonic-focused website/YouTuber either got their start or contributed heavily to the site. Now they can’t even use their old material as reference material or anything.

Remember TSSZ as being the National Enquirer of Sonic Media; a “news” site that posted increasingly bizarre articles to get clicks with the occasional real piece of Sonic news to not completely drive themselves into a hole.

That is a Very Bad Tweet

So I think quite a bit of context is missing in this article. Originally, TSSZ’s twitter was retweeting a lot of the violence that the police have been perpetrating against the black community during this time. The intention seemed to be to draw attention to this terrible issues to highlight police brutality and how

What is your problem? We get it, you don’t like Jim Carrey. But like your hate towards Sonic is really unnecessary. He’s a FREAKING BLUE!! hedgehog. I get that in this movie he’s an alien but like you really want a cartoon character to have alien teeth when he was always made for kids? Chick calm down. If your only

As someone who is an immigrant and had to deal with loneliness, isolation, being far away from when you are from, feeling invisible, etc I felt for Sonic and I loved the movie for bringing to light mental health issues in a kids flick no less. Sonic is clearly dealing with depression and his outlook in life changes

For Loki’s sake, not every movie needs to have some kind of deeper meaning to it. This movie is obviously not for you, and is meant for those of us that enjoyed the games as kids/teens.

As a general rule of thumb I ignore reviews of so-obviously-fanservice movies by people who are, by and large, utterly not the target audience.

I also don’t make it a habit to criticize/attack writers on G-media sites, especially on opinion pieces, but this is simply a bad take. It’s a kid movie for either young kids

Sonic was an enjoyable romp for adults and kids. It’s certainly a low bar, but this may be the best video game based film.

Counter point. I saw this movie yesterday with my 5 and 8 year old boys. They both loved every minute of it. It’s supposed to be a kids movie. Mission accomplished.

Gonna continue to pass on film reviews from a gossip columnist, especially when they're obviously not the target audience, and clearly have no expectations of even trying to enjoy it.

Where darn FOURTH Chaos Emerald!

Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 are every bit as much classics as Sonic 3.

Sonic Colors and Generations are excellent. So is Sonic Mania.

The problem for Sonic is that he’s no longer tied to a company’s excellent hardware.

Madoka Magica should get way more recognition! That truly is game-changing Anime like NGE was back in the day.

I’m embarassed at how much joy I experience watching Trevor Bauer get shelled.
