I don't like horror movies. Which is like half of movies these days.

Just started Path of Exile. I don't know if I'll keep going at it much longer (I'm level 20), but it does have some pretty insane customization. One thing that seems pretty common in these games is that it's very hard to play with your friends unless you're exactly the same level or quest progression. Pretty annoying

Yeah. I'm a fan of Marvel Puzzle Quest, and have checked out some of the other big-name match-3 games… It's crazy how much psychology is built into these games to keep you playing constantly (and normalize spending).

Amen. I wish they would give a couple designers two weeks of protected time each season to 'make new stuff'. If a hard-casual player like me can dream up different build specs in his free time (pacifist/pet monk? Basic attack wizard?) you'd think that an intern would be able to crank out some seriously exciting stuff

+1. Spelunky has the procedural levels, the hard odds against things that will kill you and make you start over… but not the same kind of progression. Every new item you pick up is a spike in the difficulty curve—I'm pretty bad at Spelunky, and basically at the 'learn how to use a shotgun without killing myself'

I like D3's streamlining, but I gotta admit I'd enjoy a few more build restrictions—even for just one class, whether it's skill synergy with a specific damage type or certain items/weapons. Trying to optimize a 'style' of build is fun and more exciting than 'get these specific items and grind endlessly for slightly

I think all games are about stories, when you get down to it. But I agree that they're not generally good stories. E.g. there isn't much story in Half-Life: It's one of the best games ever but there's not much to adapt for an aspiring screenwriter, besides a bunch of harrowing action set-pieces. At the very least

Yeah; on rewatch, DOOM is undeniably bad, but it has lucid moments. I like the ending.

One 'typical Hollywood adaptation' feature creates a peculiar difficulty—namely, the tendency to cut internal narration and replace it by creating new characters to bounce dialogue off the protagonist, possibly reducing their agency, which is everything to a video game character. There's an easy solution for this—use

I think Angband is the way to go. It doesn't have those "I fell down the stairs and landed on my cockatrice" humorous but dumb deaths, it's more of a gamer's game. Carefully build up strength and go deeper until your stats are maxed, then start hunting Unique monsters to kill (because if you don't, they all get

*added to wish list*

And, not on sale, it costs only 3 dollars.

Heh.

And kind of evil?

Tired of these adorable guys. Pratt's just trying to hand-off the America's Sweetheart title he got from Paul Rudd, and it's not working. Sorry JLaw,mebbe do some lip sync battles or something…

I read shitloads of Marvel comics the past couple days. (Marvel Unlimited is a great deal.) I decided to read up on Taskmaster, and he's totally my new favorite, despite appearing in some pretty crappy stuff he elevates it whenever he's around. Can't wait until someone tries to put him in the MCU… But I wonder which

You're just about at the point where 30 Rock really sucks, but actually springs back pretty well after half a season. (Better than I remembered.) So hang in there!

I didn't think anyone was very likeable. Except K, but, wiseass droid, c'mon. Wish they could've been a bit friendlier.

What's a bothan?

I missed the first 15 minutes… So, score?
