THIS… is a little point about something that could become very problematic in the Star Wars universe.

Super Mario Bros. The Game 2000

Passable.

Oh, that one I just watched on the plane… What was it. There was a guy? That funny-looking kid…Well, whatever it was, that one.

Sure. Doesn't affect you, you'll find the art house pictures or move onto a new medium to appreciate. But what does it say about the masses, our culture, growing more willing each passing year to settle for dumb shit, just because it's the only thing showing at the multiplex?

I agree. But the rising profitability of safe mass-market mediocrity makes the best filmmakers obsolete, putting them out of work or pushing them into other mediums (TV) where they can retain creative control. Basically nothing will kill the industry, but consumer complacency could diminish the quality of what films

But when you do look at the highest grossing films per decade, in the 20th century those were usually really great films, with say, 2 out of the top 10 arguably 'passable', the rest great; the top grossing films of the 2010-2016 few of the top 15 are arguably 'great' films. (Toy Story 3 was, right?) They're passable+,

"Just don't look! Just don't look!" -Paul Anka and Lisa Simpson

But Romeo and Juliet was good.

That metaphor isn't applicable. If you watched the best movie every day for a year, it would still be the best movie; if you grew tired of it, it might not be your favorite anymore, but, it wouldn't become retroactively not great.

Yeah, but I think he's worrying about how even the good movies are just kinda passable.

Yeah… I guess that one unfortunate choice doesn't ruin the entire episode (and series, retroactively) for me. Besides, it fit him, and they redeemed him by showing that he would become a fantastic father.

Or just put kid Batman innit and get renewed no matter how much it sucks.

Yeah. They could've given us a few more episodes of 'after the wedding' and a few fewer of before and I think people wouldn't have thrown such a hissy fit.

Not sure this is a good idea. How about we just get a good new show from the same team, and whoever picks it up actually gives it a couple seasons to gain a cult following.

Disagree! The wind-up was by design kind of impossible to draw out, and more Cristin Milioti would have been really great, but really the only 'worst' thing about it is the stilted, seven-year-old footage with the kids which doesn't match the gravity of what's happening at all; it was clumsy but sadly unavoidable.

Took my Disney World vacation a week too early…

Honestly I wish we had more puzzle-based minigames, especially in multiplayer games. How long does it take to disarm a bomb in Counterstrike, 5 seconds? Just slap a minigame in there that takes 3-10 seconds and create a whole new skillset for players to master and worry about.

Never know, it could be 3133t or l33t or just 'l' eet

It's fun and it's really … thematic. Generally it feels like a crunchy, adventure dicefest, but has a few dry systems that are unlike any others I've played; they seem artificial but add to the 'story' of the story more than the plot.
