Get an older full sized ‘Murican-Canadian sedan, put a few bucks into reliability stuff, and daily a classic. For peanuts. Sure the gas mileage will not be 30mpg - but you’ll never spend as much extra in gas as you DON’T spend in acquisition costs and higher insurance premiums.
for all the baggin’ on this car in this thread, it’s really just a case of this being “out of current fashion”. You see this all the time - a build that was pretty cool at the time that through a later lens gets all this thread’s flaming. Given it’s a S197, and all that comes with it, assuming it’s not rusty or…
As a professional car shopper, I talk with hundreds of car buyers every year. In 2018 alone I’ve helped more than 400 clients find new cars. I’m not throwing that number out there to impress anyone, just to offer up as a sample size. Of those 400 car buyers, only a handful of them requested help with a Chevrolet Volt.…
and i’m not buying some battery powered car - get off my lawn :)
This is the manifestation of American Consumerism and it’s effect on market expectations. I’m getting old - 50 this year - and all I really want is a nice, simple day-to-day go to work sedan with a soft suspension and a wide seat. I’ve got an F150 for truck things, and a Mustang for mustang things, a Jeep for Jeep…
We are going to regret this - we, the consumers, who fell asleep at the wheel of life. We talk about fuel efficiency, yet we buy SUV/CUV. We whine that cars are expensive, yet we leave ourselves with a pending used market of expensive to maintain/operate SUV/CUV. A (relatively) few obnoxious politicians and sheeple…
Most of us who were around when the Prelude was sold new and who were the target market were disappointed with the changes that came in Gen 4 in 91/92. The car really became, literally and physically, less ‘edgy’. It got ‘meh’. Didn’t inspire lust anymore - maybe it was better, but it wasn’t cool anymore. Ditching…
if it did, they would have taken that picture. At this price point, you’re gonna have some troubleshooting. Figure that out and you could add $500-1000 to the value and this would be a decent quick flip. The key is that the top isn’t all ripped up and covered in tattered duct tape and globs of yellowed…
honestly, even a running Sebring drop top is worth $3K unless it’s covered in dead hooker blood.
LUCK
dammit...cannot unsee either.
people buying a full sized pickup truck are, by definition, not very concerned with fuel economy - particularly a difference that small.
that’s exactly how this will go, arach.
Kill this abomination with fire. Nobody will buy this on purpose for themselves. The mocking would be endless and the resale value something akin to a Chrysler 200.
My agent will contact you shortly with shipping instructions, as my son is away overseas serving in the militarie. Kindly advise your terms and bank official records so that we can exact this transaction as quicly as possible.

not gray here, because you replied - otherwise grayed seemingly endlessly :(
And the one single unit they have on the lot will almost certainly be sold (if it ever existed at all) by the time anyone goes to grab this deal. Everything else on the lot will be at normal standard discounts and payments, and plenty of uninformed shoppers will walk out with a new Encore and a $349/mo lease with a…
