That Quicksilver is *awesome*.  Slow, but awesome.

I'd replace the Ferrari badges with something else, maybe with a prancing moose or Oprah or something.

Agree that kit cars are a gamble, but this . . . this . . . the tackiness plus a small block in an old Fiero and the scissor doors make this thing irresistible. Take it to EVERY car show in your area and piss off old farts. Take it to cars and coffee and toast 2.3L Mustangs.

No Subaru, either.

parts and know-how may be limited compared to other models

Yeah, but then you’re driving a Challenger. I’d rather walk and that’s not an exaggeration.

If you want a RWD 6 speed manual, there really aren’t many better options for the same money.

These haven’t gotten any better looking over the last couple decades. The mind knows the performance is there but looking like an oversized Cavalier does it no favors. I’ll take my $18K and go shopping for a used Hemi Challenger instead, so I can turn around when I leave it and admire it rather that tolerate it.

I think at the end of the day this is just some goddam reliable transportation for less than 6 grand, without a catch.

Nineties cars were the best, they had figured out electronic engine management and so under good wasn’t a maze of vacuum hoses and electromechanical valves and such, airbags, ABS, reliable, generally not as bloated as modern cars.

I love this thing and I want it now (just not for that kind of money). It is 100% the car I could pull up in that my wife is embarrassed by while the fellow dads give me high fives.

I agree. This is peak T-Bird in my opinion. It has the mechanical headaches of a BMW 6-series from that era, but it has cache for those who lived through this era. This is an excellent example.

I won’t deny that I kind of like this car (and I’m in my 50s), but no way at that price.

I’m nostalgic for this and am still managing to change my own diapers, but this price is nuts.

Back in 1995 I bought a 1973 Super Beetle that did not run for $350.

KBB says $9K - $13K for private party, so this price is absurd. At this point it’s just an old Caddy that will wreck you with repair bills.

ND nice looking car but the V stuff doesn’t add any value and you’ll always feel somewhat embarrassed driving it.

Umm... no.

Obvious joke is obvious, but:  I see collaborative possibilities between Brabus and Tata Motors.

My take was similar to yours, including the NP. In addition, I was just comparing it to the Mustang GT convertibles of the time, and this has aged so much better! I used-to prefer the 2-tone paint jobs with the red-orange molding in the middle, but this is so much cleaner.
