those drivers trying to unionize are more often than not planted shills with an incentivized agenda - or they are complete sheeple morons in some cases.....nearly all of us do this side-hustle BECAUSE of the IC structure and absolute total flexibility that comes with the platform.

you’re 100% wrong on the insurance piece - the rider ‘buys’ a commercial insurance policy through the fees for their ride, which covers them during their ride on Uber and Lyft. That expense is charged to the driver through the app’s billing and is part of the tax equation at the end of the year. That is in addition

It takes 10 years of 15K mi/yr of driving to offset an $8K capital increase vs a 6mpg fuel savings (at $2.4/gal) - NOT factoring taxes and interest (with that factored in, the payback period is longer). That ROI is too long for traditional investment decision standards to accept. The only way to make that work is

gee, thanks for the compliment, Manwich ! that added a lot to the dialogue..

we’re already energy independent....more proven reserves in our territory than anywhere on earth. we simply choose to continue to trade with foreigners for a variety of solid reasons. That oversimplified pervasive myth annoys me to no end..... Re Steel - that or a tariff achieves the same thing - higher price

Ford, Chrysler both had airbags standard before regulation was passed...government played a role for sure. But policy chases innovation, it doesn’t lead. And if you lived through the first decade of water based paint, you wouldn’t sing its praises - there were better choices then and now for that. I’m a libertarian

when I see money going to fuel cells, I’ll punch in.....why that goes nowhere I just don’t understand

yep - take the Prius. Purely an image car. Nevermind the environmental disaster and terrible true economics of Li batteries powering vehicles....marketing geniuses win, and fools separated from their money in the name of Climate Change and avocado toast brunches.

that’s exactly the point - those things don’t exist anymore.

Buying this is a worse idea than starting a fresh heroin habit....so beyond crackpipe. Even if you paid ME to take it away, I’d pass on this.

and that was a truly cool car - then and now -

me too - driving an old car is ACTUAL recycling and ACTUALLY green

What people ‘say’ and what they ‘do’ are not always the same. If there’s actual demand - defined as actual dollars spent - for a product, the market will supply it. If not, Chevy Volt. Regulation does NOTHING to influence demand positively - it can only reduce demand. Simple Econ 101 stuff kids. Need another

you’re not entirely wrong, but this debate has raged for years and will forevermore! I’ve just had far better luck overall with SN’s than Foxes...I really wanna love the Foxes - that was ‘my era’, but give me an SN any day, or better yet an S197, but at this price point, the SN is the ticket in my book.

how in the hell do I get out of the grey over here.....it’s been years and it sucks.

Jammit - I don’t post much there, but what a hella resource

I’m on CVN - the seats in that pic were actually done by Vince Hollywood - he built the major part of the car in that pic, which I have now - I’ve done similar in other cars - that’s just the only pic I had handy. It’s not rocket appliances or anything...

crown vic/town car (212-216 inches) in my shop is tight but doable (have done 6 of these as projects).... typical suburban 2 1/2 (yeah right) car garage with toolboxes on the front wall and shelving on one whole side wall. It’s doable, but it’s way more funner working on a SN95 that’s 184" - 3 feet shorter means I

lol - I’m the guy pushing old cop cars in my other post - two totally opposite ends of the jalop spectrum! Cheers!

I’ve got 2 now....it’s killing me to not get another cuz I’ve got the itch again, but I’m out of space (well, literally, I was out of space 2 cars, a trailer and a camper ago if we’re being honest) :)
