I’m wondering if another sport—basketball, soccer, track and field, whatever—was played in such a way that favored athletes who aren’t fully developed. But then, that would never happen because all those sports are played by men and gymnastics is almost unique in that it literally judges women on the appearance of

These girls are training intensively at very young ages. That aspect is not going to change.

While I see your point, I think that perhaps there should be better systems in place for checking the background and history of those ogres and whatnot, and provide the ability for the athletes to have a safe space where they feel like they can come forward about abuse that they may have encountered. On top of that,

Young, attractive girls coached by much older adults through incredibly difficult, stressful, and exhausting events with lots of fame and money on the line. What could possibly go wrong?

These fucking parents. What is with the abandoning their children to people who benefit financially from the children’s performance. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Isn’t that really a responsibility of parenting? Why take away something from young people that they love because of monsters? Why not just get rid of the monsters?

Rather than restricting the girls from doing what they want to do, maybe we need more avenues for girls to report assault without obstacles or repercussions and better education about what is or isn’t okay behavior. Banning them from the Olympic level isn’t going to fix this.

The Olympics already have raised the minimum age to 16 at the time of competition. The problem is that by the time you’re in the Olympics, you’ve probably been competing at a very intense level for 50% of your life at that point. But it would be nice if they put more emphasis on the well-being of the kids rather than

I’m sure Mirotić was just standing there defenseless, just inside the 3 point line, not moving at all when he got hit. I believe that story 100%.

Louisville moved to dismiss on the grounds that the board was still really shaken about the tragic events of September 11th, and can’t really process any of this Pitino stuff.

This is a correct call. Once the player in possession loses control of the ball, it is a fumble. The standard for recovery of a fumble is the same as a catch - in the NFL, that is two feet or one non-foot body part down in the field of play, and control of the ball through contact with the ground if the player is

Might’ve been. I did consider calling an ambulance after my fifth one. But I still had one to go.

McCarthy’s playbook is now useless, as it consists solely of “Have Rodgers pull amazing plays out of his ass to save us.”

It sucked they had to go sit in the box for 2 minutes afterward for hooking

“So long, Farrell, auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye!”

Peterson has said that there are no hard feelings. In fact, the Saints extended an olive branch that he subsequently beat his child with.

76 and 77 both look shocked that he had the nerve to just run right by them. Were they waiting for 76.5 to block him?

Nobody knows. The French surrendered halfway through.

Jokes on you, I feel nothing anymore as a Jets fan.

Without being on the field and talking to him, no one knows if he was aiming for the upright or not.
