Big difference. If I’m using my TV to play a DVD VHS movie I would not get the alert. That is because they were not hijacking MY TV they were hijacking a broadcast signal that I was free to not use.

You say probably, but in fact it DID NOT trigger the alert. There were no sirens at my house and I had the TV on from 8:30AM and never once did the emergency alert system broadcast their alert.
