If EV’s are really the transportation appliance of the future, they ought to re-prioritize subsidies away from ethanol production and put it towards new nuclear power generation projects. If only they could re-use some of the construction that was wasted back in the 80’s...

I put 200,000 hard miles on a chipped 1.8t VW without turbo or clutch issues. The current owner is over 230k and still on stock turbo and clutch. Didn’t have a turbo timer.

Except most people are already driving at the increased speed, so there wont be a significant change in gas mileage. For those that are concerned about optimal gas consumption, simply drive in the right hand lane at a slower speed.
