Dear lord, if you're expecting Google to stabilize anything, you've got another thing coming!! Google is an advertising company that stick it's hands into... you know what? We'd better not go there :P
Yes, I know some of those specific issues have been resolved. I still toss Ubuntu on that Gateway laptop to tinker when a new release comes out. I have to laugh that the wireless STILL doesn't work out of the box, but at least they've eased the barrier to enabling it.
As with all things, you get what you pay for. Does Windows require higher specs to run as smoothly as Linux? Sure. But I value a few hundred dollars a hell of a lot less than my free time.
Why install linux? Because your life's ambition is to be frustrated as hell and to spend every waking hour (including many that should be spent sleeping) fixing your computer instead of using it to get work done.
I agree. When I lived in Apple's music ecosystem I found my excitement for music fizzling. iTunes is so clumsy and crash prone that I avoided it. I was constantly restoring my iPod because of filesystem errors. It wasn't until I started using Zune that I found myself enjoying music again.
I can get about 30% of the music I want used on Amazon for $3 per album. Assuming an average of 12 tracks per album, I can get 60 tracks per month for the same price as Zune Pass until I've bought up that 30%.
@JDickson87: It's not going to happen. I've had ZunePass for a few years now. I've enjoyed it and paid it more lip service than anything else I've ever put money into. Friends, family, and strangers alike think it's neat, but nobody was interested in plunking down $15/mo for it.
@Bs Baldwin: That kinda looks like copper. From the street I'm sure it looks awful. I kinda like it in this shot though :P
When this becomes a Kinect title—
It's also worth noting that there is an advantage to taking your photos at a higher resolution than you intend to print. You'll have greater flexibility for cropping photos while still being able to print at your desired DPI.
@teguri: This.
@Andinator: I think you bit of more than you can chew...
@Name of Numbers: Probably because the format came about around the same time earbud mania began. You've got two extremes— fit your entire music collection onto a device you can take anywere OR these seriously hi-fidelity cds that (at that time) aren't compatible with the cd player you already own.
@Dignan17: I use the media keys on my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard. I'm guessing most media keyboards work with Zune though.
@the_sidewinder: since 2009?
What would actually be kinda cool is if that was an ePaper display displaying the wikipedia entry live!
I didn't miss the joke. I just chose to make a poignant and much funnier joke. It's okay for people to tease Apple without getting all butt hurt about it.
