In Ontario there are programs to help rehabilitated sex offenders reintegrate. It has been very successful and makes a lot of sense when you read about it.

I can’t hear “peas and carrots” in any one but Forrest Gump’s voice.

Yeah, that really bothers me too. I also resent the fact that I HAVE to do Algebra in order to get a degree. I get that it’s important to have educational balance but it also sucks knowing that that was the ONLY thing holding me back (well maybe also the cost of college too but at that time it was really only math).

Grad school should keep him occupied until he’s at least eighteen!

Haha! Maybe I should have stuck it out until attempt #7. I don’t know what it is but my otherwise pretty competent mind looks at an algebra equation and it is like I’m attempting to read farsi. I have a mini anxiety attack just thinking about it.

Yeah that was basically me. I got literally straight A’s on everything else but I dropped out of beginning algebra 4 or 5 times because I’d do so bad that I knew there was no way I could get a C or higher so might as well try again next semester. One semester I even hired a private tutor, visited the tutorial center

And then what does he do when he graduates? Will he even be old enough for a work permit to work at the carwash (like I did at 16, and still managed to get accepted to a top 10 school)? I don’t understand this trajectory at all.

I agree, I get that academically he’s miles ahead of his peers but school is also about socialization which I’m guessing this kid missed out big on. My mom teachers first grade and one year she had a genius like him (he was in the process of patenting a car design at SIX) but his parents wanted him to move through the

I have taught middle school for 15 years. Stories like this make me angry. I don't give a shit if he's academically ready for college. He isn't ready for college in far more ways that actually matter.

My dad went to Princeton for engineering. Being raised by someone who went to an Ivy League school really takes the glow off of those supposedly elite institutions. Just last week on a family trip, he, an Ivy educated engineer, couldn’t get the cabin’s windows to open. He was turning the knob the wrong way.

I dropped out of community college because I couldn't pass beginning Algebra. Way to bring me down Jeremy!

Killed by an Apple? How unoriginal.

The real story is that Americans believe that muslims are a homogenous group, instead of a variety of people in terms of their practice, conservatism, beliefs, dress, and lifestyle. This is still true in most countries, but those stories don’t support xenophobic stereotypes and hatred, right? The American media want

There is a cheese fruit, named after its smell. (also known as vomit fruit)

Understandable.

Are there any bigger drama queens than many rap artists?

It’s sad that you give a shit.

who

I not only genuinely didn’t know this but I will also quickly forget it.

Holy shit Jezebel sucks. It’s like if Gawker somehow got even shittier.
