That’s not really how competition works. For starters, you seem to be implying that GOG has to replace Steam in order to compete with Steam. That’s silly. Coke doesn’t replace Pepsi. They make alternative products and consumers get to choose. That’s what competition means.

A lot of the projections have it at around 1 foot by 2050 and between 3 to 5 feet by 2100. Depending on whose paper you read. A few inches is an incredibly optimistic prediction. I don't think it would get as bad as this one shows though, but we're gonna lose a lot of major cities.
