This is exactly it. She did an *amazing* job at building her brand but really tries to downplay the role that sex work had in her success to a degree that’s frankly absurd.

White Blood Cells - White Stripes.

When it works its fantastic but I think he needs to be super picky with what projects he takes on as his range is quite limited.  He’s great at what he does but it feels like he sometimes tries to go to far out of his comfort zone with less than stellar results.

Just because they’re aggressively trying to be popular doesn’t mean it’s going to work.

That’s why I’ve never been thrilled by Trent Reznor’s film scoring work; it all sounds like NIN b-sides whether that style is appropriate for the film or not.

“Pop-rock” isn’t the same thing as “pop”. If someone calls the new Sleater-Kinney pop they’re not saying “this sounds literally identical to Taylor Swift” they’re saying “Sleater-Kinney have taken their traditional sound and modified it to be bland and generically pleasing to reach the widest radio audience possible.”

Anyone who likes Bloody Marys should try a Caesar at least once; that extra punch of salt and umami just takes the drink to a different level. If you don’t like Bloody Marys you’ll almost certainly hate Caesars as its a more flavourful version of the same drink.

It’s kind of a pedantic distinction but a mixed drink (or highball) is a single kind of alcohol with a carbonated mixer. So Vodka Soda or Gin and Tonic would be mixed drinks as opposed to cocktails.

This sounds like a letter Salty would get: “Dear Salty: I’m a server at a restaurant with kitchy shit all over the place. The owners insist on buying weird salt and pepper shakers from thrift stores and won’t let customers use them without paying a deposit. Customers keep getting annoyed that I can’t give them salt and

Got it. Enjoy voting for Andrew “Definitely not a lizard person” Scheer in October. I’m sure you can count on him to have the courage to do the right thing.

Just so you know, as it seems you’re unaware, it was the previous federal government - lead by the Conservative Party - who agreed to sell the Saudis the military equipment and the current government has no legal way to back out of the deal. Trudeau is in a no win scenario; either he upholds the deal Harper signed and

Just FYI the Globe and Mail is a right leaning paper which has officially endorsed the Conservative Party in basically every Federal election ever. Of course they’re going to publish opinion pieces (which is what you linked) calling Trudeau a boob and wishing the Conservatives were back in power.

I personally think it’s 100% down to people not wanting all of the calories that come with beer (and to a lesser extent wine).

His contract is something like $54 million over three years with $30 million of that guaranteed. I think he can afford to pay to have a custom helmet designed and certified if it’s down to a choice between that or retiring.

Many years ago I knew a guy who was working as a server and caught the owner stealing from one of his tips. I think it was like $20 or something. He just shrugged and loaded an entire case of wine into his trunk at the end of his shift.  People have no idea how common this kind of shit is in the restaurant industry.

I think asking whether external resources should be allowed in speed running is a valid question. Like if there’s a chart with 100,000 entries on it should a speed runner be allowed to pull up the chart mid-run and reference something or are they expected to memorize that information if they want to use it? The

Yep, people are acting like this is a joke but this actually does happen and if the owner is this cheap god knows what else they’re doing. It’s so short sighted as this is what leads to staff robbing the place blind but some people can’t think that far ahead or think they can rip people off with impunity but no one

Can someone explain the 20-0 score for a game that appears to not have been played? If it’s a forfeit why award any points and not just count it as a win? If the game needs an official score why 20-0 and not 1-0? If cumulative points matter for some other reason then 20 seems like a shitty number to give the winning
