DH1 just feels needlessly long to me. The only interesting thing that happens in the interminable camping scenes is Harry and Hermione slow dancing to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, which was bizarre and yet still kinda worked.

The 3 Brothers sequence was some of the most beautiful animation I had ever seen. I could watch a whole movie of that.
I’m guessing the earthquake machine was linked to Crowd Control somehow. Not a bad way to make a few extra bucks.
Get a bunch of hamsters.
I’m definitely excited for Venture Bros. Sidenote: if you’re looking for a show with the Venture Bros flavor, I highly recommend Harley Quinn on HBO Max. For instance, the Legion of Doom is basically the Guild of Calamitous Intent. The show’s funny has hell, and nothing brings me joy like Ron Funches voicing King…
I’ve had Filipino ice cream that has cheddar in it. It was always a fun treat.
Vosges makes a Tallegio chocolate truffle that’s really good. Their balsamic vinegar truffles are pretty tasty too.
Mayonnaise is mankind’s foulest creation. If God knew people would use egg yolks to emulsify oil and vinegar, He would never have invented the chicken.
I assumed every New Yorker’s worst nightmare was either Times Square or the Port Authority.
The game certainly has some NES-era shenanigans gamers wouldn’t stand for today, like a translation issue making one critical part of the game impossible to figure out, or bosses that can’t be damaged unless you’re at a certain level (and the game makes zero mention of this). That’s another reason why I think this…
Other than the weird graphics update, what was so egregious about the FFVI remake? I replayed it on iOS and I stopped noticing the graphics change after a while. The game otherwise was still as great as I remembered it.
It’s pretty damn hilarious. The best parts are the FMV sequences that are so weird and bad you wonder how that’s supposed to help sell more Pepsi.
Fucked Up released the final part of their Year of the Horse album. First impression: it’s their best Zodiac album yet.
This remains the only Anderson movie I haven’t seen. After Life Aquatic, I felt serious Wes Anderson fatigue and actively avoided his films for years. I finally watched Moonrise Kingdom out of boredom and wouldn’t you know it, it immediately became my favorite film of his.
Start with Bottle Rocket. It’s far less precious than his other work, and a pre-fame Owen Wilson puts in some of his best work.
Casting Chrissy Teigan and John Legend as the annoyingly perfect family was a pretty inspired choice.
Just follow him on Bandcamp. He’s been sending out daily reminders about the new album for months. It’s been kind of annoying.
He reminds me a lot of Tinariwen, which makes sense, since both are of the Taureg people.
I only skimmed over the review to avoid spoilers, so my question is: how necessary is it to have watched Clone Wars/Rebels before this show? I could never get into either of those, and the trailer featuring a precocious kid with a blaster bow and arrow sent up a red flag.
