I saw the midnight premier of Snakes on a Plane and it was one of the most fun theater experiences I had. The crowd was really into it (fueled, no doubt, by all the liquor we smelled once the lights went down). Sure, it was a silly film, but it delivered exactly what it promised.

Oh shit, I didn’t know Scavenger’s Reign was picked up for a second season. That’s excellent news.

Hopefully that will give it the nudge it needs to get a season 2.

Yeah, I wish whoever runs these things would grow a pair and force The Bear into the Drama category where it belongs.

Right? For instance, I have no memory of Hiam Abbass being in the show. (She’s been popping up a lot lately. She’s so good in Ramy.)

My favorite needle drop from Mr Robot is “The Head That Controls Both Right And Left Sides Eats Meats And Slobbers Even Today” by Bleach. It’s an absolutely raging Japanese noise rock track that plays as Joanna Wellick is getting dressed at the beginning of S2E8. It’s such an awesome contrast between the fury of the

Or Mo Cheeks helping out Natalie Gilbert when she blanked on the anthem before an NBA playoff game:

In that, it is a kind of film they don’t make anymore: an action escapade that takes itself just seriously enough, but never too seriously

Holy shit, is AV Club back from the dead?

Oh man, I hope not. I just finished the protorelic quest with Fort Condor and hated every minute of it. (I wasn’t a fan of it in the Remake DLC either.)

Same. I love games that allow you to change difficulty mid-game. I played FFVII:Remake on normal most of the way, but after getting thwomped by Leviathan over and over again, I switched it to Easy for that fight and didn’t feel bad about it. Otherwise, that game’s Normal mode was baby bear for me--not too easy, not

I downloaded the demo last night, but didn’t get past the first screen that said an Ubisoft account was required to play the game. I noped out of that in a hurry. There’s precisely zero reasons why a game like this should require a login.

I’m 4/5 of the way through Echo and it’s just a mess. I know it was cut down from 6 episodes to 5, but it feels like they cut out even more than that. Some things make no narrative sense, like when Maya is captured and suspended upside down over the roller rink—except her kidnappers want to keep her hidden until they

I was going to say it’s a reverse of those “first impression” reviews from random influencers that come out a week before proper critical reviews, but yeah, yours is much more accurate.

“I don’t have the time to ‘git gud’”. Okay, I have a full time job, too. I have a life outside video games. And I know that it’s the kiddies driving the ‘git gud’ stuff, since they are the ones with the lightning reflexes and spare time to devote to gaming. But that’s not the game’s fault. Nor is it the game’s fault

One of the things the game nails is the combat. They somehow made the game feel both real-time and turn-based simultaneously. Also, unlike the recent FF games, you can still control all of your party—in fact, the game actively encourages you to switch between party members often during each encounter. It’s really

Cid was really the only thing that kept me playing FFXVI. The combat got boring and repetitive real fast, but Cid was so good, I put up with it for him. Once he left the game, I only lasted a few more hours before quitting.

Yeah. If it’s any consolation, the game makes it pretty clear early on that he isn’t long for the world.

That’s an easy one for me: Mega Man II. It’s my all time favorite. Some people prefer III, and I get it, but II just hits the spot for me.

If someone wants to shell out cash for character skins, so be it. But all I think when I see them is “there’s someone who pays cash for character skins”.
