I don’t think people understand how important and unusual it is for this particular woman to be cast as anyone’s love interest. I have never seen a woman as dark as Lupita cast this way, and I am HERE FOR IT. She can be the love interest and be talented and fierce in so many ways. Just to watch her on the screen being

Two things I thought while watching the finale that I haven’t seen anyone comment on: 1) Alicia was suitably horrified when Grace decided to delay Berkeley for a year but she shouldn’t have been surprised, considering her daughter learned from the best how to stand by an undeserving man, and 2) the bald-faced jealousy

Buying a Honda Insight is still the worst decision he’s ever made, a problem somehow solved by the second worst decision he’s ever made.

if I was an actress I wouldn’t even want people knowing that I was registered to vote.... that would mean being over 18 and thus one foot into the grave

You guys are really quick to shut down the dialogue of women of color.

Taraji really made Person of Interest different from your average white guy bromance procedural, which is what they tried marketing the show as. And so I loved Carter, she was the best. And her death absolutely GUTTED me. I watched one episode after that and I was like, nopenopenope, and didn’t return.

I don’t even know what was going through their minds -characters have fantastic chemistry that fans love - lets add a character and push the main character to the back burner. Was there no one in the meetings that said maybe this isn’t a great idea?

Because Beharie was The Lead character from the beginning of the marketing of the show. And all throughout S1, Crane was Abbie’s sidekick. The end of S1 and a huge change-up in the cast led to a large number of POC characters being sidelined and eliminated. Then S2 happened and rumors began that Beharie was deeply

These aren’t TV shows I’m attached to, but I’m friends with women who deeply loved Sleepy Hollow, and I’ve already read some really interesting and compelling reactions to the choice to kill off Nicole Beharie’s character.

Almost twenty years ago, there was a rash of suicides and suicide attempts among the teenagers on my reservation. It was a scary time because it seemed suicide was almost like a virus going from child to child.

“Wait.... DON’T?”

All the criminals on that list are your typical run-of the-mill murderers. There are no mass murderers, terrorists or serial killers on it. One guy is wanted for robbing $7 million and incapacitating 2 guards in the process. So he’s not even a murderer.

My guess would be the cartel money involved

Is the lack of representation because society doesn’t view women as dangerous or is it more because women just don’t commit as many violent crimes that would get them on this list?

You know, if I see one more person say “What were they supposed to do, she wanted out” without even fucking acknowledging the reason it got to that point, I’m go to Hulk out.

Did you even see the fiasco of Season 2? Beharie was the co-star in season 2 & was driven off by bad writing & disrespect.

And why did she want to leave

Even this old white lady knew Abbie was the lead character. Why couldn’t the writers figure this out?

Congratulations Sleepy Hollow. You made me forget how annoyed I was with The Walking Dead finale.
