Apple tends to have multiple big announcements in a calendar year, so they could announce the new iPads later this year assuming there's no mention of them tomorrow. Last year saw the new iPhone and iPods announced around this time and then the iPads just a little while later. And that was after the 3rd-Generation

In an American context, where is the fashion in this creation? Digital saturation has its places—such as music—but has Samsung really claimed the wrist with this effort?

Is the second paragraph really about functionality while the last sentence of the fifth paragraph is the first mention that you haven't heard the speaker yet?

Thanks; that's given me a lot to research. I haven't yet figured out if Verizon offers an early upgrade deal similar to AT&T's.

One trick: even if I were to get the full $325 for selling the one-year-old iPhone, I'd need to pay the unsubsidized price for a 5S or 5C as my contract is only a year old.

Is this different from Apple's Reuse and Recycling program?

Might they stay with the current display so that they can tout some insane battery performance, similar to the newest MacBook Air? Is that even possible—would all the right parts fit into the current or smaller iPad mini?

What if C = speed of light? It's got speed like the S, and it doesn't weigh much—less than any other smartphone?

What about a 3rd-party cable connected to an Apple adapter—are there risks inherent in this setup?

What would be the other nominees for Greatest Scientific Achievement?

For me, Apple's software announcements were exemplified by the Calendar portion of the keynote. The crowd cheered when the calendar with all the appointments was brought up on screen, as if the user needed an evolved way to handle all his meetings. So I got the inkling that we were about to see a paradigm shift—but

Do I need to shop at the $3000 price point if I'm looking for Video Perfection in a 60-inch TV?

The Game Center icon's lighting effects make it more 3D than the other icons. It seems arbitrary (or maybe I'm missing something).

It's not even compatible with the 3rd-gen iPad. Is this a move by Apple to phase out the 30-pin devices?

    Waltz's exclusion explained: http://www.goldderby.com/news/4089/oscars-academy-awards-supporting-actor-christoph-waltz-django-unchained-film-news-entertainment-13579086.html

I read on goldderby.com that Waltz was under consideration for lead actor by SAG. He's a front-runner for the supporting Oscar because of the Globes and BAFTA—winners of both of those have only lost the Oscar three times.

I think a Spielberg movie needs to transcend so far above and beyond in order to win. Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan are landmark, unforgettable films. You said it: Lincoln doesn't have the love.

It represents the race elements in Crash.

The iPad 2 doesn't count as a major redesign of the first iPad, but this fifth iPad counts as a major redesign? The first iPad's entire backside was overhauled.

I wondered that, too. I read that they're riding the wave of tablet sales and picking up new subscribers, making a profit where there was supposed to be a loss.
