    Waltz's exclusion explained: http://www.goldderby.com/news/4089/oscars-academy-awards-supporting-actor-christoph-waltz-django-unchained-film-news-entertainment-13579086.html

I read on goldderby.com that Waltz was under consideration for lead actor by SAG. He's a front-runner for the supporting Oscar because of the Globes and BAFTA—winners of both of those have only lost the Oscar three times.

I think a Spielberg movie needs to transcend so far above and beyond in order to win. Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan are landmark, unforgettable films. You said it: Lincoln doesn't have the love.

There are already some refurbished models at store.apple.com for less cost. A lot of them don't seem to be discounted yet, though.

Do any of the display's shortcomings help with battery life?

I think the iPad 2/3/4 has one of Apple's least sexy designs. It's a big, flattened iPod video: an improvement over the first iPad but a tired form in the end.

Price is one factor, I think.

I think the live blog noted it as 8lbs lighter.

I hope the cinema displays will follow suit, even if not today.

My guess is that it will be worth less and less as the lightning port gains traction. It'll be only a previous model with an outdated connector.

Apple is supposedly going to meet with accessory makers next month. That seems late to me.

"Assembled in China" follows "Designed by Apple in California."

Second- and even first-generation touches do have the sensor. :-)

    If the feature isn't meaningful...

GRID was a frightening acronym in 1982, no?

How long will it be until legitimate 3rd-party accessories for the lightning port are on the market? Clocks, docks, wired speakers, etc.

Never mind. There is a red iPod touch.

If the iPod touch is any indication, the iPad mini won't be offered in red.

They surprised me, too. And I'd been looking around the web for leaks.

Ok, the JesusPhone on Gizmodo. Has it referred to Jesus Christ or Jesus Diaz?
