Reading the explainer from Univision is like reading every single corporate cutback I have ever seen (aka bullshit). All I can say is corporations suck. Capitalism sucks. Hmmm, perhaps, although I would suggest that gay men are quite experienced in our understanding of how to “perform” masculinity. I’ve heard it called wearing“wrist braces” where we know when we are not safe and have to exude masculinity to protect ourselves.

I know he didn’t ask anyone their orientation, since he made such a point of that, but I can’t get over the whole concept of “I needed a straight man to pretend he was gay, because that’s easier than a gay man pretending to be masculine.” SMH

The point is it's all bullshit. It's not okay for any of us to tell anyone wtf to wear, and it's even more bullshit when we declare a truth for all members of one gender.
