serious question: has Nissan addressed their CVT issues? is it still too soon to tell? because i kind of want to defend Nissan as a company for “the people” that shows a little style when they want to, but holy shit.

they DO look better when they want to. with nissan you could always go blandly handsome or slightly quirky, usually for a grand or three less than Honda or Toyota, and a point or two lower APR. a company that will throw a 2000 Roadster or a 240Z or a Cube or GT-R or a Juke out there has some imagination and passion

i agree. i grew up in a datsun/nissan family. if you look at the company’s history, their greatest successes were cars that were slightly cheaper than their Japanese counterparts, and sports coupes that were significantly cheaper and more reliable than their Euro counterparts. it’s been a rough century for sedans and

they are a little cheaper than Honda and Toyota though. and their financing specials are more aggressive. i think the people that buy Nissans are people that still think Japanese makes represent the best value. maybe they don’t trust American or European makes and are still wary of Korean cars? maybe Nissan is for

per the article, a moment’s notice is ten seconds.

what the fuck are you talking about Torch. this system only works on a road where you are driving 37mph or less. bringing the vehicle to a dead stop and kicking up the hazard lights on a road with traffic at that speed is not a big deal. it’s fine. it’s what the vehicle should do if the driver is non-responsive.

everything is turning to shit.

there’s one in my apartment’s parking garage. it has about an inch of dust on it and 4 flat tires and i am THIS CLOSE to just knocking on doors until i find the owner.

if they don’t want it, they don’t want it. might as well call them out.

changing the subject here, but why do you use the emergency brake? i haven’t used one in 20 years, not since the last time i owned a car with a manual transmission.

i feel like all of the work that’s been done on automating 18 wheelers has been ported for pickup trucks with trailer hitches. i’m ok with this.

i see where you’re coming from, but that would give the slowest car on the highway wayyyyyyy too much power over the flow.

they can still change lanes by using their hands.

tldr: people with control issues have control issues.

i agree. assuming it hasn’t been wrecked. both of the front air bag covers look like they were blown off and put back on. i don’t worry about the 10 owners very much. mostly because if i bought this i’m 100% certain i’d just sell it again in a year or two. this isn’t the kind of car that i would keep.

this is a terrible take. “absolutely bullet-proof” is a ridiculously impossible standard that has never been the bar for any tech ever. i agree with the “demonstratively better than a human” part, but we aren’t far from that.

i almost never used cruise control. but i always use adaptive cruise on highways. it’s a wonderful, wonderful blessing.

they pull into the chop shop and start taking the parts off of it? the car will start giving a warning that the key is no longer in the vehicle or whatever, but it doesn’t kill the engine or anything.

rhetorical questions, aren’t questions, they’re comments. you can tell by being able to read.

yah HD is trying to survive and be relevant in the 21st century, and i sure thought they’d hole up and resist change. this sportster is interesting to me because it seems like they are trying to fight the perception that it’s a ladybike model. it doesn’t look like a smaller, simpler version of their bigger bikes
