yah once i was given a choice between a solstice and a fiesta or whatever at a rental counter. i was taking it from vegas to salt lake city for work so i picked the solstice. i had to buckle my backpack and carry on into the passenger seat like a realdoll. totally worth it.

yeah what did they all have kids this year?

yep. read up on the employed people in los angeles living in vans and cars. or you could just keep making snide and ignorant comments, i guess.

this. unless you’re trying to put together a museum piece, there’s no excuse for replacing a van vw engine with another vw engine.

because waymo’s business model is a taxi service, not private ownership.

O MY, THIS IS GIVING ME THE VAPORS

only a few people have reported this. the defect is only visual, it doesn’t affect the performance or damage other parts. it’s a part that is designed to be removed and installed by a user, easily replaced. it’s a manufacturing flaw by a 3rd party. as far as launch flubs go, this is really not a big deal at all.

my biggest concern, and there are several, is that transmission. if it craps out, nobody will touch it.

many cop cars these days have license plate reader cameras that are tied into the registration database and notify the driver if it’s found an expired plate or an uninsured vehicle. or one that’s been reported stolen.

i just moved to los angeles, which is full of employed homeless people. i’m convinced that if waymo really wants to make money they should make autonomous cars that have bathrooms, showers and sleeping cots.

i agree with you. one thing working in favor of level 5 working better is that cars on the road are constantly being replaced by cars with lower levels of automation. it’s easier to make a level 5 car that plays well with others when the others are level 1,2,3 or 4. i think what we will see is relatively quick

it’s easy for me to imagine visiting Oregon or New Jersey.

i live in that reality. a lot of people do. it’s an exciting life. enjoy your ‘06 anusmobile.

cybertruck can’t be Tesla’s first flop because the Model X already came out. seriously though, there is only one reason why i want a cybertruck and one reason why i won’t buy one, and it’s the same reason. i have no idea what i’d wear.

that exhaust makes me want to roll coal out of it.

holy shit. i can finally get adaptive cruise AND plaid seats? this might be my next car.

the bar on cheap and nasty has definitely been raised. i wonder if people used to complain about how you can’t buy a cheap unenclosed car that you start with a crank anymore.

ND, but only by about 1000 bucks. either way i’d want that AC tested for coolant leaks first though. no mechanic within 600 miles is willing to work on my S70's AC leak.

i agree with you, but i respect that the seller also gave a price for a complete transmission rebuild in the ad.

as i recall (snicker), the pick up trucks only burst into flame when a news crew ignites an Estes model rocket engine inside it.
